Scramblers

Honda NX650 Dominator by LLMotorcycles

I like a build with a story when You can reflect the manhours spent in the garage with every detail made and modification applied to the machine. But this is going to be short and accurate. Just like the conversation I had with the builder. I usually tend to get as much of tasty info about the build as possible.

This time it wasn’t the case.

When asked about “Why the style?”…

The answer was: “NX650 is a lightweight offroader – so a scrambler was a natural choice”. I knew that this is just the type of builder that gets to the point.

LL Motorcycles are located in the heart of Kaszubia Region. This is pretty much a place in the northern part of Poland where I used to spend every summer of my youth. So I can picture this machine to be perfectly suited to the autumn landscape of this lake district.

I like the colour and stitching of the seat – fits the scenery.

Changes list is pretty modest

The front wheel was swapped from 21 inches to 18 inches. The suspension is stock. Just the fenders were styled to resemble the old-school motocross bikes. The characteristic double headlight was created to be a homage to BAJA 1000 bikes. I like it – especially because it’s practical. Double means usually more Lumen than a single classic bulb. And the little protective case around it – makes it a real deal.

The speedo came from Honda XLR 250. Tank from Honda Benly 50. Rear seat and frame were shortened and closed with a neat loop. The engine is also stock (these powerplants are hard to kill if serviced properly).

The only mod here was losing the airbox and tuning the carb to the new Dominator exhaust (the only piece I really don’t like here) and a pod air filter. That is pretty much it. The result? A good looking light scrambler with a retro vibe to it. Keep it simple…
