Moto Guzzi Bellagio “Fenice” by South Garage

When You think about MotoGuzzi Bellagio… What comes to Your mind? For most people… it probably is “MotoGuzzi… What?”. For those who actually noticed this model on the market, it would be something like: “Meeh”… And no wonder. This model didn’t live long. Didn’t make any permanent mark on the exotic motorcycles scene. Or any motorcycle scene. It kind of looks like a miniature bike with its funky proportions. Too bad – since it comes from an Italian company… well known for releasing good and classically looking machines.

So I can safely state that this particular 2010 Bellagio was “fixed” by South Garage. And they do have a portfolio to prove they can build a motorcycle. They are from Milan, Italy – so who would be better to cover the design work of an Italian motorcycle? North of Italy is a home of Ducati, MotoGuzzi, MV Agusta, Ferrari and Lamborghini, Pininfarina, Bertone, Ghia, Giugiaro… This list is truly amazing. It must be something in the air over there… This is no coincidence.

So You definitely expect much from a company located in Milan…

And they did deliver.

About the build. Most prominent changes are in the tank and seat design. The backbone of every motorcycle. Custom made tank and seat, covered with complementary paint job utilizing silver, dark gold and black. Combined with raw metal, aluminum visible on the accessories. Regarding the accessories – You have Ohlins front forks and mono rear shock with a quite visible gold preload adjuster. Wheels were upgraded to Kineo Carbon Fiber and brakes are full Brembo.

The rest of the accessories is also high end. The speedo is Motogadget Chrono-Classic, Rizoma levers and some CNC machined components from FG Racing.

The engine is upgraded with custom air intake and Spark exhaust. Custom one piece header covers were also made to make the looks even cleaner. With the internal changes and DynaCoil accessories, they managed to get 95hp out of this unit (it’s impressive 20hp more than stock version). So not only they deliver on design… but also on performance – and that makes this build complete.

BTW. “Fenice” stands for Phoenix.

You will definitely be seeing more of South Garage builds here sometime soon.
