I was looking forward to seeing Jacek Mulak’s new creation, that was teased here and there on the forums and groups… And here it is. Cardsharper Custom’s take on this quite mediocre, but yet – iconic donor motorcycle.
I like if the motorcycle has some personal touches or a theme that inspires. This particular CX was supposed to be a Cafe Racer. But while it was waiting to be customized, the owner changed his mind… Influenced by the number of Cafe’s built on this V2? Most likely. So they decided to take another route – and make it a Scrambler.

The back frame got shortened, and custom fender was installed. The side covers that fit so nicely in these characteristically rounded bends of the tail frame were made using the bottom of the old fuel tank. The central tunnel was used as a dent for the exhaust pipes to fit in on the sides. The yellow paint instantly grabs the attention for this detail. And this kind of fun facts is why I like Cardsharper Customs builds so much.
The exhaust itself is stainless steel, and the rear section is actually a detachable muffler. For weight loss – the centre stand was removed. This tiny fairing on top of a classic round headlight is modified original one.
There are many other handmade details – not visible at first glance. The lowered footrests, speedo mount, battery box… About the seat – it was upholstered with the material usually used on yachts. It seems to be a perfectly natural choice for weatherproofing this vital component.
The engine was repainted. The frame, rims and many details were powder coated.
Speaking about the paint job – in return for placing a logo on the bike – DMD agreed to provide one awesome helmet. What You see in the photos is a yellow DMD “Seventy-Five” which fits the retro off-road vibe perfectly.
Although I don’t like the CX500 at all (as a motorcycle, when it’s stock)… I wouldn’t mind riding this particular version for a while… a long one.
