With this 2018 Royal Enfield Interceptor 650 Twin… quite a long name – You need to see the “before/after” slider on the top of the builder’s website. It is an excellent looking motorcycle when stock, but this transformation seriously improved its appearance. It looks like a
We started from the Interceptor 650’s original tank character Welding with Zeus Custom’s Cafe Racer style. The curves were simple, sleek. With a small tail light, Minimal gives the feeling of a clean end. We choose to have a sleek black tone contrasting with the golden bronze lines running from the body to the end. Giving a sleek classic And bring the eyes to feel the body and end as one
The motorcycle was built upon a direct request from the Royal Enfield team. The design process (that You can see samples of on the Zeus Customs website) was approved quickly. The brand new stock orange Interceptor 650 came, to be immediately disassembled.
I like that the Zeus Customs decided to build based on a stock tank. The bodywork was directed to be a monocoque, but the backbone of the project was left almost original. It doesn’t change the fact that there was a lot of custom metalwork involved.
The colour choice, as I mentioned multiple times, is the most elegant setup of 2 colours in the world. Black and gold always work with motorcycles. No matter what the genre, size, type… whether it’s a plastic or a classic bike.
“The Prime” is sitting lower than the stock bike, but there was no revolution done to the suspension. Stock forks got shorter springs. The rear suspension was ordered new, and the 340mm shocks were installed on the stock mounting points. Over the front tire – there is a Bates characteristic headlight and a small, round vintage speedometer from Motogadget. Old school Firestone tires complete the look.
The other changes include – fitting pod filters and removing the airbox, repainting the details, to match the darker tone of the build (like the “injector” side covers, rims).
If You get the chance to hear it – let me know how these two exhaust pipes sound!
