Moto Guzzi V65 by Fabio Goffi

We stay in Italy. Let’s end this week focusing on style. As this build is not about the rarity of the donor bike or the performance. No USD front fork swap, flat slides or Ohlins suspension.

It’s about a… weekend ride. Dusting off the motorcycle and going for the hills. The reason for doing it. The freedom that a motorcycle gives. The feeling of unity of a man and machine. Growing with every kilometer (or a mile, if You’re from those strange countries that for some reason still use imperial units;) )…

And the recipe for it is these 3 steps

  1. Take something Italian… a MotoGuzzi will do. Nothing extreme. Old V65 will do just fine. It’s not fast, not to fancy… but seems perfect for a relaxing cruise
  2. Give it to a builder… living in Tuscany, Italy. Modify, build, create. Don’t focus on performance parts. Think about style. Let it soak with the local vibe.
  3. Do a photoshoot in some place significant. Like the “Cradle of the Renaissance”. The beautiful city of Florence, where Leonardo da Vinci had spent many years of his life, surrounded by the hills and vineyards.

And that’s it. 3 times Italy. It’s one of the most relaxing blends possible. Since I can’t live in Tuscany (not right now at least), I take great pleasure in just watching these photos, videos and listening to the music accompanying the building process (check the Youtube videos below).

Enjoy.
