After a series of cafe racers, contemporary customs and all that is different (and we all know different is interesting)… It is time to get back to basics. This time it’s a British classic motorcycle porn.
This Mark III Norton Commando 850 cc
was the last motorcycle from Norton before they disappeared. Their parallel twin engines are very characteristic. You see the side engine cover and instantly You know it’s a Norton. And it’s not only about the aesthetics. This particular model (Norton Commando) won the “Machine of the Year” award from Motor Cycle News 5 years in a row between 1968-1972. Commando was present only for 10 years so – this is impressive.
The 850 cc MK3 Commando had an improved specification – electric starter, left side gear change and right side foot brake to comply with United States vehicle regulations, and a rear disc brake.
This particular machine has a custom racing fairing and a custom gold/black paint job. It works perfectly to underline the British elegance. Honestly – I was also surprised with the double disk brakes on the front. A nice restomod addition, as I believe there should be only 1 and quite smaller disk. But the rear wheel is not equipped with a rear disk brake (so this is not the last year of Mk3).
This particular beauty was listed for 11800 EUR. Oh man… I have a serious weak spot for classic British bikes. I highly recommend to check out what they have for sale… (link). I spent the last 20 minutes just browsing photos and admiring…
