I’m not a big fan of a BMW R NineT. I know… The ride is flawless, it’s sharp and responsive, sounds great and in theory has the full capacity to become a cult neo-classic (well, it probably is already)… But it doesn’t look right for me – its design is overly complicated.
That’s why I appreciate it more when a custom version appears, that fixes “the design” problem the original has…
And this BMW R NineT from JSK Moto is brilliant.
Has all the attributes of a “classic” cafe racer concept, with the strong focus on being unique. The cosmic headlight, one piece fairing, red seat, ribs on the sides and the general line. They all come together perfectly. I really like this one.
Plus – the Akrapovic must sound amazing on this one. I hope to hear it live someday.
BTW. The night photoshoot is awesome. Shout out to JOEsEYE.com.
Fragment from the builder:
One-Piece Full Fairing
With Project Autobahn Streak we tested the concept of easy customization by having the internals and even the gas tank be part of the motorcycle. While the fairing and oil tank cover is one piece made like a shell. We were able to achieve attachment of the shell to the motorcycle with just three connection points making installing it relatively easy. Imagine it something as simple as changing your phone case.
The shell we created is made out of fiberglass, a decision due to the complexity of the lines we wanted for the build and the simplicity we tried to achieve. With our freedom of shape, we moved the seating position forward making the ride position less aggressive and improving comfort to the rider. To clean out the front end, we created a CNC upper triple tree that is designed purposely to only accept clip-on handlebars. The side vents are also fabricated by us, to complete the look for the side profile.
We wanted to have the signature BMW angel eye headlight for the motorcycle. We sourced it from a car and although small for a motorcycle; a great platform to add a custom aluminum vent around the headlight to help dissipate heat, and create a futuristic look.
